the really 'do whatever you want' aspect and the 'however i want to' aspect is really nice. you can go in really sneaky, or you can go in full force, however you want to do it. the atmosphere is the best part of the game. you can literally sit there and just look around and be amazed. You can go explore, you can be a good guy or a bad guy, IDK its just fun appealing and different.
You've been playing it for an hour and you need people to tell you what you should like about it?
If its not your thing you don't have to feel ashamed in not liking it!

Well the thing is that i think i do like it but if it keeps on the way its going then i will get bored with it, and because i do not have much time i like to invest the little i have in a worthwhile experiance. And im not asking what i should like about it im asking if there is anything to look forward to and / or if there is change of pace. I kinda just need some motivation to stick with it thats all.

I think you might be right, there might be a certain degree of shame. It's strange when lots of people tell you to check out this great game that you will love and once you do you don't really feel the same vibe. It kinda makes you feel like your missing out or not getting it.

Not everyone "gets" this game their first time playing it. The best games can be the hardest ones to get into. When I first played Stalker, I didn't like it too much. But then I just thought about how great the game concept is, tried it again, and played endlessly.

yeah thats what interests me aswell, the games concept.
oh well instead of wasting time i might aswell give the game another shot and hopefully it will live up too what everyone says about it.
Thanks for the advice everyone
Another question, do you think it be wise to start off with clear sky, i hear it's a sequel-prequel, and if that goes down better to work through the first one ?poopiVONpoo
if i hadn't already played STALKER, i might be tempted to do that, because i find the whole prequel business a bit of a bore - much better to go forwards than backwards - but if you've already got the game and started it, maybe it's better to press on.
On which note, you do need to stick with it, it gets much more intense later on, the early parts are about letting you immerse yourself in that world and getting the feel of it
it's a great game, one of the very best i've played
yeah, this atmosphere people talk about, i don't really get that , i mean it might be because the gfx are a bit dated but they are still good. Never really been bored and interested in a game at the same time. Any highlights (epic moments) anyome can reveal ? poopiVONpoo
The graphics arent really that dated, it still has some of the best lighting and textures ive seen
I have no graphics enhancing mods BTW
