both are poorly optimized. Vegas has better visuals, STALKER has better terrain. STALKER has innovated Idea with a good call on combining RPG with FPS, to create a fun filled action in a Nuclear Fallout Area (Chernobyl). Vegas has a cool blining unrealistic lighting effects that usually end up giving me a headach afterwards. STALKER can have that effect if you turn on bloom (yah, blidning!).

Both are good games, but my vote goes towards STALKER.Â
I own both...I love both!
Rainbow Six Vegas is (IMO) the best Rainbow Six game to date...beautiful graphics, great innovations, like being able to 'snake cam' under doors, or like being able to press up against a wall, and peek around a corner (or fire blindly if it's too dangerous).
STALKER is buggier than RS:V, but all the gameplay aspects really make up for it. The vast environments with great character portrayals and non-straight-forward combat really sets it apart from the pack.
If I had to burn one of these games, I would get rid of RS:V, purely because of the potential replay value of STALKER, and for the potential moddability of it.
I don't play either game online, but I hear that RS:V has a much better multiplayer, as STALKER is buggy and awkward.
That said, I actually enjoyed playing Rainbow Six: Vegas more than I enjoyed STALKER. RS:V had a neat storyline, realistic sound and graphics, great acting, incredibly fun gameplay, easy-to-use controls, very approriate AI difficulty, awesome range of scenarios and overall an incredibly fun experience......probably my #1 game of 2007 so far!

Personally Vegas but they're both really buggy games oscar530i have both games niether r buggy id go for vegas dont get me wrong stalker is great but for fps vegas is just dam right cooly
Rainbow vegas is a 360 port. Stalker is not. And stalker is graphically superior to half life so quit with the Stalker is like half life ****
Â
So there is only 1 choice. Stalker all the way.
Rainbox Six Vegas. STALKER is incredibly buggy.ice_radon
That kinda works both ways, I haven't encountered any bugs in STALKER but Vegas crashes if left paused for more than 2 minutes, every third time starting it up crashes my computer and shuts it down, my friend got it and can't get into the multiplayer and even my multiplayer will only occasionaly work. I would say if your unlucky with STALKER its a bad experience but if your unlucky with Vegas its actually dangerous for your computer.
I like vegas, if you want loads of puzzles go with stalker, if you want constant action and tactical ness (assuming you play on realistc) go with vegas, i own both, I love vegas alot more, stalker its too many puzzles, so like yeah...JigglyWiggly2
there are actually no real puzzles in stalker. if there is, then it just simply requires you to shoot whatever's blocking your way. :P Â but yeah. if you want a really good single player experience, STALKER ftw, but if you are going to want a better Multiplayer package, then Vegas. but both are good fps'.Â
