Has anyone loaded the patch and care to share their experience?  I already know you can't load saved games after the install but, I'm interested to see if it resolves any of the graphical issues (ie floating sky blocks, yellow sky, all sky, patches of ground turning purple and green)  Before anyone suggests, my graphic card drivers are up to date.

I'll post my own experience: 1. Patch installed fine 2. PC runs much cooler now when playing the game 3. Fixed floating Sky box issues I had 4. Fixed appearence of green and purple colors showing up in landscape 5. I am now actually able to log in to multiplayer and play Overall a positive experiece; except for the fact I had to start over (but I wasn't that far into the game anywaY)

I had no problems what so ever with the out of the box.  None of those weird video issues, and 0 crashes in 6 hours of play.

I installed the patch and crashed on the very first mission!!!

No problems before the patch, and still no problems after the patch. Besides I kinda had to restart my game from the beginning anyway.

It seems the game is using far more memory after the patch because I'm stuttering all over the place now...

I have noticed no changes of any kind in performance.  And none are listed in the patch details.  I think you are both imagining these differences.

Wow that's really cool.  They really have recreated the Chernobyl area almost verbatim!!  That is so cool.

See this is part of my point, to all you people against cheat codes.  I'm so in love with this recreated environment I don't even need a game around it.  I would love to turn off everything.  All bad guys all missions and just have it be a big environment to walk around and look at.

Then later actually play the game.

You said before you didn't load the patch so how could you see a difference?

If you go back and read you will see where I said I did install the patch after all.  I was getting a door sticking problem in the X-18 Lab so I decided to try the patch and start the game over.

After I installed the patch the game crashed in the very first battle.  I had had no crashes at all before the patch through about 6 hours of play.

I haven't tested out the patch much, but from initial impressions it seemed to help the performance by a substantial amount. Only thing that irks me about it is that now armor deteriorates.
