STALKER problems

Howzit guys! I have been having problems with stalker being dark on the screen. I have tried turning the brightness up on it but it dont work. I just need to know if i patch it will it fix it? and maybe somthing else i could do.

No flashlight, use a night light, with winnie the pooh on it!

The game was poorly optimized.

There is an awesome programmer who has come up with an optimized mod for the textures and lighting. It looks better and it's faster...but I can't remember the name because I read about in PCgamer...

It REALLY brightens up the game by adding contrast to the textures.

It's like fp32 or something like that....I'll post it if I can find it.

Actually the Float 32 mod darkens the game...check side by side screenshots.

I like the darkeness...I've pooed my pants a few times when those stupid snorks jump up at you.

It's all candy to me...

Be thankful they put out a great idea that was made into an amazing game by other great minds.

I don't doubt it for a minute. About 65% of the voters in my poll were bug-free... of course, nearly a quarter of voters were quite upset by STALKER's bugs.

Well sorry jack,its true.I bought it ,patched it,and played..not 1 problem.I had the slightest bit of lag here and there,but thats every game.I am telling the truth.Mlazaro

I am truly proud that you bought a "potentially great game", I hate to tell you this little secret - its not a cure for cancer, nor if it doesn't work for you - the sky isn't falling. I know, I know these details are shocking I couldn't believe that THQ hadn't found that cure yet, but we can only hope with that next patch they will.

Now, if the next patch doesn't work go ahead sell your game on a respectable auction site, or sell it to a local friend and moan when his PC actually runs the game better than your PC does. Yea it would suck for you, but not for your buddy.

I may have been a bit harsh on you in this post, but you are throwing way to much drama into this, you are acting like you are the only one who has ever paid money into a game, and ended up being screwed over. Chalk it up to experience, be cautious on your next purchase from the associated companies responsible.

dude GSC said they're going to release soon the 1.0004 patch - be happy and stop complaining, if you'll have more problems...send a letter to the company again about the bugs they didn't fixed, i mean what do you want from us? to complain for you? to make a patch for you?

dude I will believe it when I see it. As for what I want from you, it's simple: if you or your friends are having problems with STALKER and the devs blow us all off to make more $$$ on Clear Sky and don't patch STALKER, THEN you and your friends should boycott Clear Sky by not purchasing it.

i will still get Clear Sky coz STALKER is good game, Gothic 3 is "buggy" you may call it - i still love it and will get Gothic 4

I agree STALKER is a good game, and unlike Jack, I dont have any problems playing it. I even enjoy Gothic 3, and the bugs in that game put STALKER to shame. But you are missing one crucial point, Jack (and many others)bought a game, and the game doesn't work for him (and many others). Now, like we all know, you can't take back software after it's opened, so basically Jack has a $50 frisbee right now. He has every right to be upset, and demand that the responsible for the game fufill their obligation to the consumer.

Nobody is dumb enough to think that a game can be bug-free. But when quite a few (just check the official forums) people can't even play the game, that is a problem, and it needs to be fixed.

Add in the fact they seemingly have moved on to another product, without completely addressing the issues with their current release...and ya...you could easily see why some people are pissed.

So you feel cheated - like I stated previously, and I will state once more contact the company responsible directly. If you want to go further you have the option of using their forums, you can use your personal blog here, or you can do a review / rate the game. At the end if all of those options been exhausted contact the Better Business Bureau, and go ahead and picket THQ's front door with the other 47 people who support you.

Until then you can blog it, write a book, or give Stalker the same 1.0 rating like you gave COD2, GTA:SA, and Prey. Lets not forget that wonderful 5.8 rating you gave to Half Life 2. I know that last rating right there will get a lynch mob on you real quick, bashing the beloved Half Life 2. I wonder what bugs those above average titles had to deserve a rating like that.
