Stalker should i get it

i was wondering if any one could give me opinions on stalker as iv heard various things about it whats it like is it scary and well most importantly what does it play like and how long is it because i was thinking of getting it i just need some reassurance to make sure its worth it

STALKER can be a very long game depending on how many side quests you do and how much exploring you do. I think my first playthrough was like 25-30 hours. It's not really scary, more creepy than anything. Probably the most atmospheric game since HL2. I would even say it is more atmospheric than HL2. It's an FPS with RPG elements (inventory, and you can upgrade your weapons and armor in the 2 sequels) I think everybody should at least try the game.

probably the best shooter series to come out this gen. It's a game revolving around careful exploration (open world with varying weather and time cycles), some tactics with combat, great scenery (It takes place in the Chernobyl/Pripyat area of Ukraine after the plant detonated, so lots of ghost towns and strange empty buildings).You never know what you'll find when you play these games. I'll post a few of my screens for ya

Oh, and I forgot...if you get them..install the COMPLETE mod packs with them before you play...much needed visual alterations and some good gameplay imporvements

Stalker games equal an unforgettable gaming experience. Play without mods first, you will want to play it again and then you can do it with mods.noobzoer

Just picked it up the other day and Id highly reccomend it. Im not to far into it yet but Im loving it. Only issue is aiming seems a little hard but thats probably just me. The atmosphere is pretty creepy amd stumbling upon someone in the wilderness makes you think...are you goin to try to talk to them or should you just take the advantage of sneak attak and start shootingApocalypse324

All in all incredible games. Worth every penny and every hour. And definitely get the "Complete" mods. And don't worry about playing through without the mod first. There's a bunch of other mods that completely alter the game, but the complete mods don't take anything away. They just upgrade the graphics, and make some subtle but effective changes to the gameplay, that probably should've been there in the first place. The games are even better with the Complete mods, and don't lose anything.

Just make sure to download 'The Complete Mod' for each Stalker title you buy.

Not sure if it still helps but I got all of pripy at walmart in the discount games section (little individual case, cost like $5-10).

I find it's a hate it or love it type of game, you either enjoy playing it or you dont.

It took me a couple of times to get into it, but once i did i loved it.

the franchise is really good, but it has a low fan base. plenty of exploring to do and the deeper you search the better the loot you find. there are 3 titles to the game and a fourth is being worked on. if you do get get the complete series i highly suggest you download the "STALKER complete mod" it amps up the graphics, sounds and adds extra NPC sound bytes. i've played th franchise atleast three times. its that addictive.

Best $3 I ever spent during a Steam sale. Now, I'm normally a fan of playing games "vanilla", but this game is massively improved by the COMPLETE mod. If you get this game, get the COMPLETE mod. It fixes the low-res textures and particle effects, potentially game-breaking glitches, busted sidequests, messy translation, and low quality sound effects. It cleans up the HUD and inventory and also adds a couple extra graphical effects and fast travel, which really helps you skip creepy places that you've already dealt with.

Yes, the game is a masterpiece.
