Kotor2 and Republic Commando are great Star Wars Games that I own, but I cannot play them. Reason? Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library (then it states file location) and gives me the error message of "Abnormal Program Termination", for both games whenever I start them up. Anyone know what's wrong with my settings or the game or anything? I also heard the KOTOR series has compatibility issues with Vista. So if anyone has this problem and has fixed it or knows of the solution please help me out! -Raella!

try right clicking on your games exe file, or the games shortcut.

then choose properties, then choose compatability mode, then check the box, and make sure it has windows xp sp2 selected.

then hit apply, and ok, then right click the shortcut again and choose, run as administrator.

from now on, you should only have to right click them and click run as administrator to run the game.. hope it helps, all i got on quick notice.

Haha, I tried that exactly, but it didn't work, at least not for Rep Comm. But I will try it for KOTOR2 but my idea was to get windows 7. Think it might work?

not sure, it might just be corrupted registry files or something..

very few games actually have trouble with vista (itself) some have problems with 64 bit systems.. some have problems with certian processors, sound processors (cod4-and realtek)

so going to windows 7 may help, or it may not, you wont see an increase in performance in gaming, cause its basically vista's platform, just some changes and gui differences...

have you tried uninstalling them, reinstalling them, and fully patch them, make sure video and sound drivers are up to date..
