I've heard alot about this game but I never picked it up but I noticed that it's on steam now for €9.Is it worth it? Has it aged well? and is there any issues with it with Vista 64-bit?

Go ahead and pick it up, it's one of the best WRPGs ever made. The graphics definitely show their age but otherwise the game holds up flawlessly.
its a great game you may need to do some stuff to get it to work on vista or nothing at all depends on your luck
KOTOR does not work with Vista!!!! :(, it's a great game though, you'll need XP.Marfoo
The Steam system requirements say it works on Xp and Vista
I hadn't played it since it was released and bought it on Steam. Now i can see it actually aged quite gracefully, still a lot of fun and great story.
I'm playing light side for this run through, I just got into the Jedi order. I went with Jedi consular.
Dark side is way more fun, more powerful. and the story is actually better in my opinion. but i'm holding out, putting it off for a more thorough playthrough.
KOTOR does not work with Vista!!!! :(, it's a great game though, you'll need XP.MarfooYes it does. Works for me on Vista ^^. Great game definitely worth the buy I can't believe how much I enjoyed the story. I got so into it :P.
Have it on Vista and steam. Works fine, the game itself is spectacular. I HATE Star Wars for the generic ideas it is flooded with but Bioware did a pretty great job at painting the characters as realistic instead of the cardboard "good and evil" cut outs from the movies.
KOTOR does not work with Vista!!!! :(, it's a great game though, you'll need XP.MarfooI dont know why some ppl just blurt out things like this. The fact that YOU (Marfoo) cannot get the game to run in any flavor of Vista is YOUR problem, but dont go around shouting out that it wont work when it does fine in both Vista 64 Ultimate AND Win764. Ive tried the game on both and its possitively working great!

Ive tried the game on both and its possitively working great! How gentlemanly of you to make false assumptions about my experiences with Vista and/or KOTOR. I haven't tried running KOTOR in Vista at all. I had seen several complaints on these forums that KOTOR didn't run on Vista, perhaps that was back when Vista was still new and compatibility issues were still being worked out. I have a friend here who tried running it on his laptop recently and couldn't so I figured it was still a problem. I know now that the game works fine, as other politely pointed out to me.
Now I just hope we can get KotOR2 on Steam, as well. However, the will-be-released-sometime Team Gizka mod for the game might not be compatible with any Steam version of KotOR2.
i think mines 21 inch or somewhere around thereit has aged pretty well - it isn't like you start it up and are like "ARGHH, IT BURNS MY EYES!!!" (unless you have a 30' monitor)

In what possible way does GTA 4 make a good alternative to a Bioware RPG?no star wars is so old and outdated find a better game like GTA IV or something

Yes....a million times yes!
Likely one of the greatest RPGs...and definately one of the best of the Star Wars franchise

Glad to hear it's fixed on Steam, I'll have to give it another run through sometime.

Ouch.... KoTOR is old yes, but believe me it's one of the best game of this decade. I don't know but I would definitely chose KoTOR over GTA IV, I wouldn't even hesitate, even though I'm a GTA fan.The game is meant to run 4:3, and there is no way to alter the aspect ratio. I would run the highest 4:3 you can and leave scaling 1:1. I remember I played it stretched out at 1680x1050 and it looked funny the whole time, so I bumped it down and letterboxed it.Marfoo
ok but every time I start the game it screws with my docks(objectdock) and makes them really small and I have to reset them to fix them. It's not a big issue but it is annoying.
Is there anything I can do to stop this?

Sorry, I don't use objectdock so I don't have experience with what could be interfering with it.[QUOTE="dakan45"]yeah far better than mass effect.tony2077canot for me i think there at the same level Kotor has better planets and an actual rpg combat system plus a nice twist in the end and very nice characters, awesome spaceship Mass effect has the ability to choose whatever you want to be, even if you want to be known as some war hero in the game backstory, it really lacks rpg elements but that can be also good for those who dont like DnD stuff, but the combat feels lame, not exactly an action rpg. The characters are generic, the ship interior is pretty meh and the few planets you can actually explore are small and linear as hell.
