Not necessarily. In true blizzard style, it will be released "When it's done."Doom_HellKnightLol so im guessing 2009?
there is a subtle distinction to be made between inproduction and in development - starcraft 2 may have spent two or three years as a design document and still technically been in production, actual development on the game and its technology may not have started until much later...projects can spend a long time in the pre-production/roadmap planning stages, or teams can be moved about or other projects can becomes econdary or even optional, and overall production times can be stretched far beyond the honest development numbers because of it
anyway, yeah, there is no set length of time a game should take to make, and it's done when it's done is, as said above, one of blizzard's maxims

who knows. i wouldnt be surprised. but when they were working on it then im sure the team wasnt even as half as big as it is now. because it wasnt that big of a priority.
how long did it take for blizzard to develop world of warcraft? what like 3 years so 2009 - 2010 isnt too much of inflated figure in my opinion. i think if they release it any early then that the game will likely not live up to great expectations of the starcraft community. but apparently Blizzard registered starcraft2.com domainlike in 2002 so they have been planning starcraft 2 for ages and might have been working on this for years.
