Ok so I've been searching all day and haven't found a thing so I'm wondering if there is someone out there who can help me out. All I'm looking for is a video of starcraft 2 gameplay with the "reduced violence" box checked. I'm curious as to what all it does. If somebody could record a video or find an existing one for me I would greatly appreciate it.Jedi831I think it would just take away the blood.... sorry I can't find one...
Why would you want one of reduced violence?Shadowhawk000I'm a Christian gamer and I prefer not to play games that have blood and gore and stuff in them. I've heard that the reduced violence feature just turns the blood black but I haven't found a single video or screenshot to back that up. Again, if somebody could record a video for me I would greatly appreciate it.
I'm pretty sure that there is, although I'm starting to wonder due to the lack of evidence. Here's a screenshot that shows it in the options menu. http://screenshot.xfire.com/s/100544617-4.jpgI don't think there is such an option in Starcraft II. You might wanna look for the German version (if there is one, not sure), since Germany is by far the most no-blood/gore-in-video-games obsessed country that I know of.

Would have put them here but GS is too cool for any kind of tags so of course it doesn't work...

Oops, sorry. Should have checked first. There is indeed that option and it promisses to reduce blood and disable "death specific" animations for people. I'll try to upload a clip and post a link. BTW, I think the game has a nice little story and is actually much more civilized than most games.
[QUOTE="Gamesterpheonix"]Why dont you just...test it?FelipeInsideMaybe he hasn't got the game...? Ahhhh. Of course. That makes sense. I myself had no idea that feature was even there.
I always wondered why some Christians go to great lengths to screen outviolence. The old testament is full of wars and death. God wipes out the world with floods, Decimates Egypt with famine.
Strange thing is alot these same Christians don't have a problem with watching a movies like the Passion of Christ which is full of violence. Much more violent than just about any video game. Starcraft is like Bambie compared to that movie. I mean if you really wanted to go completely away from violence you would even have to stay away from sports like football where people get hurt all the time. And I'm a Christian myself.

Although I agree with you, clearly this user has a slightly different set of values, and we shouldn't question these. However if he decides not to play Starcraft II hes missing out.

It's called cognitive dissonance. I won't express my opinion regarding his choice because of forum regulations. :(
The option exists (as you've found), but it removed the luster from the game. Ever see a Dark Templar slice up a Marine/Marauder/Ghost? It's spectacular.
That's all very true. And I respect your opinion. This is just how I was raised. Different people have different morals. :/I always wondered why some Christians go to great lengths to screen outviolence. The old testament is full of wars and death. Just joking... but can I ask you 2 questions? 1- How old are you? 2- If you do not watch violence/blood, then that means you do not watch movies, read violent books, play sports etc?I always wondered why some Christians go to great lengths to screen outviolence. I'm 19 and its not really violence as it is the blood. For instance, I play games like super smash bros brawl, legend of zelda, or star wars battlefront. Violence I can handle just fine, but blood just doesn't seem right to me for some reason. It's kinda stupid, I know, but we all have our quirks. ;)Jedi831Don't watch 300 then.....hahahahaha.....

What do you do when you get a cut on your arm or something and it bleeds?

I did gash my hand open one time (enough that I needed stitches) and nearly passed out. :P
You guys have a problem with he not wanting blood in media content? Seriously? Everyone has their own views or habits, I for one cannot handle a lot of blood and gore(And hence avoid games like L4D2) because, well, I cannot handle it. There isn't any rocket science that one cannot see a lot of blood or gore.gigatrainerI don't have a problem, just asking why cause he said it's cause of his religion.... And anyway, blood on video games looks nothing like the real thing....
