Whenever i heard that it was comming out, i threw a fit of joy
Isn't it the best announcement in a long time?
Is there anyne that like me, cannot wait for it to come out?

Not really, which actually pissed me off, they seemed to leave Starcraft to the second plane, while announcing Diablo 3
i mean, it is awesome news and i am so totally buying it,
But starcraft is a whole legacy in its own and it doesn't deserve to be tossed aside. And they basically said "the game is comming along nicely, some few things have changed"
I still play Starcraft on Battle.net often. It's so much more advanced than any RTS released while at the same time it remains so simple. Relic could learn a thing or two from Blizzard's RTS games. If a game isn't balanced - it's hard to take the game seriously when playing online. Dawn of War and Company of Heroes suffer from blatant balance issues so I am not really anticipating any other RTS other than Starcraft 2. Which probably explains why Starcraft has more players than Company of Heroes and Dawn of War combined at this second.GodLovesDeadAgreed.

Couldn't agree with you more, Starcraft has set the standards for all RTS games and yet none of them could fill in the shoes. Also explais why there isn't so much competition in the genre, you simply cannot compete with a game that even 10 years after it was released, the online play is still huge and there are world tournaments of it. Which decade-old game still has such turn out today?
But it also puts Blizzard in a tough position because those shoes are tremendous ones to fill.
I wonder what the specs. for theStarcraft 2 will be, if they will be light on the computers like its predecessor, or if it will follow the current trend of games that are designed to only run smoothly on the top of the line gaming hardware, like Crysis

I have enough faith in Blizzard to get the gameplay right, though I'm not too sure if I enjoy the art-style. But just judging from the gameplay videos, these graphics can be scaled to look like WC3 on low settings. If you can run WC3 - I'm sure you can play SC2. That's just a guess though.
Since playing Starcraft 10 years ago, I've played many other RTS and non-RTS games, none of them made me feel the joy I had playing countless hours of Starcraft for years, How many games have kept your attention for years?
STARCARFT2 Something to look forward to?!! The answer is a big NOOO, STARCRAFT2 is the only game to look forward to.

Yes very much looking forward to Starcraft.
I believe though in the RTS genre, The Total War series is great competition
Hmm i beg to differ, i mean, Total War is sure fun an all, but the graphics are very primitive compared to starcraft (and it was released 5 ears later.) The gameplay is very similar and it is overall a very fun game to play, and a wuality of RTS games that we haven't seen in a long time
However:
Starcraft managed to bring a whole new concept of exploring the scenario, resource fighting, etc etc, Concepts that were explored in great games such as Total Anihilation which were great, but they simply do not measure up to the fun starcraft brought and sstill brings today.
Plus, the graphics are amazing, i mean you see plenty of games today that do not preent such good graphics and cinematics, and Starcraft was designed a decade ago
I'm sorry for being so adamant on this but i simply think that Starcraft cannot be put into the RTS gere because Starcraft CREATED the RTS genre.
I mean, even Warcraft, that had the exact same concept as starcraft, had to move to a different direction, going to a MMORPG, which is fine and fun, but reinforces the point that Starcraft is the only one in its ggenre, and there is still a game to come that can take the crown away.
The only thing that can be said negatively about starcraft is that the music is a bit repetitive and at times annoying.
And thats that
Sorry, but i
Me too! But it doesn't look like so, they still have't released the demo, and the demos usually come out about 4 months before the final release!
Is it foolish to hope for a 2008 release?
Ped101
demo never come out four months before release, your kidding right? UT3/ Stalker/C &C 3, Sumpreme Commander demo's all came out a 4-6 weeks before their games came out.
