Starcraft II vs Warcraft III

I've been having an arguement lately about which of the following 2 Blizzard RTS games is better. And for the people who are saying that SC2 isn't out yet or that SC2 has better visuals than WC3 because it's a much newer game, SC2's beta had quite a few people playing it (including myself) and overall I thought SC2 was better than WC3 in terms of gameplay. Which game do you like better?

LOL this is funny. Starcraft is considered the national sport for South Korea. There is still tons of people playing SC1 on battle.net. WC3 isn't even the best WC game. It was a step back from WC2.

Tax on army size + hero leveling were terrible ideas for multi-player. The single player was good but the multi-player in WC3 was weak. The changes in SC2 actually work out great unlike WC3.

Despite its graphical improvements, Starcraft II doesn't feel nearly as polished as Warcraft III. Not only that, but it's missing many of the features that Warcraft III expanded on from the original Starcraft. SCII Feels like a step backward for blizzard. That, and the abysmal Battle.net 2.0 makes me say Warcraft III is the better game.MarthRingman

Never been an RTS multiplayer person but Starcraft 2 was the first RTS game where I felt liike I could play competitively without getting owned by pros which is awkward because I heard Warcraft 3 was suppose to be easier to get into then Starcraft.

There is NO FRIGGIN WAY IN HELL that WC3 and DotA can even be compared with the sheer size of SC2's community.

Shush, of course the beta has a smaller community than an affirmed and acclaimed game like WC3 is. I thought that, since *the game isn't even out yet*, we were counting SC's community too.

With the StarCraft 2 editor there will be a SC2 DotA mod. Its inevitable.

I'd say Starcraft II is the better game. While I do enjoy Warcraft 3, I just can't get into the heroes too much and the army limits (not to mention upkeep costs *shudder*) makes for relatively small army sizes. It just felt like it was a specialized squad game than an RTS with armies fighting for dominance. Plus I thought there was some hp inflation, so units tend to take large amounts of damage before kicking the bucket, but that's a minor complaint.

I didn't care much for multiplayer as well. I played more custom matches such as DotA, LOAP, some werewolf game requiring teamwork to root the werewolf player, and some crazy obstacle games. Kind of says a lot when most players play custom maps over traditional skirmishes, at least IMO.

Obviously StarCraft 2 . WC3 was good but seriouslly , Nowadays I CANT EVEN FIND PEOPLE THAT PLAYS THE STANDARD RTS game in WC3 . DOTA fking ruined WC3 from a True RTS to some lame game that only requires Stun heros . Dota all-stuns for now may have more players but I dare say that when Diablo 3 and SC2 gets released offcially , People will ditch Dota all-stuns for tjhe more strategic SC2 and more action packed Diablo 3 .

Even If SC2 has been fully released. Dota will still have better & larger community than SC2 because of the large userbase of Dota. NerubianWeaver

There is no way DOTA will be bigger then SC2 no matter how many years its had on it. SC2 is the biggest PC release this year by far.

I dislike trashtalking a DotA player, but dear, this is ridiculous.

StarCraft's community overwhelms DotA's in every way conceivable.

Battle.net 2.0 is such a step backwards that it's made my experience with Starcraft II, so far, horrible. If Battle.net is down I can't play the game I paid 60 bucks for! I have to publish custom maps to Battle.net in order to play them? I can't make or download maps and put them in a folder to play when I want (online/offline). C'mon Blizzard.....what a slap on the face. The game is amazing, the system sucks. Such a disappointment. I like all the other Blizzard games over this...except WoW.

Yes, you can play offline. But I agree, I don't like Battle.net 2.0. I miss chat lobbies. And I do not like my real name showing in the game. There is no reason for it.

:( Me too I like chat lobbies, easier to gather with strangers after a game, I mean sure I can get my amigos on, but they aint always available or I rather play with some new peeps too.
