I have the Brood War Expansion Pack but don't use it much. Online play is hard as hell cause most of the people who play are hackers or are frickin' amazing. It's an ok game but can't wait til' Starcraft II. I ain't that good either.
When he says hackers he's talking bout the nuke hack that lets u nuke without even puttn a ghost near u and like 15 nukes come down on you at once, or map hacks where they know where you are at early in the game and what buildings u got, puttn u at a disadvantage.
And to the OP yes i still play it, I tend to dislike the ZC maps and like the original temple and BGH maps.
I still play Starcraft every now and then, especially the expansion. Every month or so, me and my 2 friends would have a LAN match for about 2-3 hours, with each of us being a different race in StarCraft. I'm mostly the Terran because they are awesome. :D
Heh, I still put it on and play now and then for kicks. Still the greatest RTS ever in my opinion.
As to the comments about hacks, yes there are people out there that can/do hack the game, but the truely elite guys win public matchs and such, hard to hack your way to victory with a bunch of people watching.
i play occasionally with the other guys in clans2a, but like most people , everyone is just hardcore waiting for starcraft 2. through i reckon my micro skills has decreased because i dont play as often anymore ... and its a repetitive cycle: you dont play, you lose skill, you get beaten that discourages you more so you dont play :cry: lol
I play brood war every couple of months, but it seems like it's gotten harder and harder to get (non-BGH) games going. Still, I don't think I'll ever give up SC completely.
