Well, first off, the 'blue dude' is called a draenei. Secondly, hunter class is a great starting class.

the race you're talking about is a Draenei. and it really depends what you want out of the game as to what class you should play. wowwiki has a full discussion on it.

my personal opinion: Priest. best class in the game =p

Warrior isn't good for starting out. It's way too gear dependant. Hunter is the easiest. Rogue and Warlock are easy to level too.

You'd better start with a hunter class.

I hope you realize that no class is the best or worst, despite some opinions.

I have a warrior, hunter, shaman, and paladin. And I have to say, I don't really have a favorite, although right now I'm enjoying my paladin the most. (Blood Elf) Though mana comes to be a nuisance when playing my paladin, but it's easy to get over. Paladins are pretty boring to level, along with warriors, alot of the low-level combat is pretty slow. Hunters and shamans are better because of the totems and pet. It's really up to you, think about what you like more. What kind of hero interests you the most? Ranger, gladiator, etc.

Tanks are needed just like priest. It's easier to find groups making the Warrior class easy to gear. Gear dependency is out of the question. THis game is about gear, so whatever. I found my warrior, which was my first too to be the easiest to level and fastest as well. You hardly ever die solo'ing. Hunters are easy for solo'ing but they're hardly ever needed for groups because rogue and mage have better dps, unless you have a well geared hunter and good pet.

But at the end of the day, it's what you like, so I find the TC's question to be irrelevant to the game. It doesn't matter which class you start out or play. It's all about preference. Since you have the time to play an MMORPG, why don't you find out yourself?

I'll suggest Priest just to offset the warrior discussion. and yes, it is fun to play.

Woah, woah, warrior the most simple class? Theres a lot going on. Stance switches, making sure you get above average weapons and armor, and spending your skills perfectly. If you want a good starting class, choose a hunter or shaman or something. Not a warrior. Although the warrior is my favorite class, if you want to enjoy it then you need some experience first. I made the mistake by choosing the warrior as my first class.

People say the hunter class is the easiest but that is BS ... roll a pally and run retribution tree til you level to 70 then go tank or healer .. tank preferred right now as people need them ....

Pally has way less to look at and deal with in regards to icons and such ....

Pally tanks are loved big time right now ....

.... play a pally ....

The class that is the most fun however and many people feel overpowered is the warlock class. I love my warlock or well did until I stopped playing recently.

Warrior has to be the worst class ......

DeViLzzz

You do know that according to this list: http://www.mmorpgs.com/Kunzite/guide/guide.php?pageid=41 - Paladin is the worst solo class, and I agree. Paladins have too much down-time, where as warlocks, rogues and hunters do not.

Don't get me wrong, Paladins are fine at soloing, but they are pretty bad compared to the others.

I, believe hunter is best for start-offs, as their pets will take the damage for you, while you deal heavy damage with your bow, crossbow or gun. However, I started off with a druid, as feral druids are great at soloing.

I'mtalking about levelling a Warrior. It's one of the most gear dependant classes in the game, and levelling it can be more difficult than most classes.

Doing instances isn't the way to level. Besides, Druids and Paladins can both tank and heal, making them more viable to find groups.

You should honestly just try out every class. It sounds like a lot, but it's really simple to level up to say 10. Get a feel for how strong or weak the class is when taking damage and how they deal it in return. I recommend you try out Druids. They can heal like a Priest, tank like a Warrior (or at least take lots of damage like one), deal loads of damage like a Rogue, or deal magic damage kind-of like a Mage. You achieve this through the use of being able to shape-shift into different animals such as a bear and cat. They're really fun to play because of their versatility. You should go to WoW's website and read brief descriptions for each class and see what interests you, then try it out. Hope you have fun.
