1. i reinstalled steam on a fresh install of windows 7 and my old metro last light steam cloud save files are gone. where is a good source to get other peoples save game files for this game and other pc games (and  ps3 games). basically i need a completed save game file so that i can load the chapter that i got up to already.

2.  also how do you make sure your steam game save files are getting backed up in the cloud

3. is there a way to disable steam cloud forever and just back up yourself with an something like an extra hdd or your own cloud service like dropbox?

 thanks for your help.

1. I used to know a great website for that. But it's been so long since I used it. I recommend searching on google for a metro save file.

2. Normally cloud saves happen automatically. Right click on a game in your steam list > properties > Under the tab 'updates' you will find a checkbox that will ask if you want saves stored in the cloud. You can uncheck that. It is checked automatically for each game.

3. Sure you can. Whenever I get a new PC I copy the 'my documents' folder. Most if not all of your saves are stored there.

Edit: oh and I've never turned off steam cloud sync but I think there is an option for that in steam. Go to the view tab > Settings > Cloud tab and uncheck steam cloud sync.

Verifying integrity of the game cache (again under properties when right clicking the game) usually fixes most problems with games on steam so you can always try that. But I have no experience with that so yeah, it's probably best to email steam support.
