Steam Game Question

Hey guys, i just bought Darksiders on Steam while it was on sale. Can someone plz tell me how to play the gam with the 360 controller?

It lets me press the controller button to go to the menu then it just goes back to keyboard and mouse.

I don't have Darksiders but on GRiD you have to go into an options menu in the game to enable the controller properly. Mess around with that..

I'm not sure, that is a bit weird as you should just be able to use the gamepad right away and be able to switch back and forth without any issues, most games you don't have to enable it.
