Steam has this game Wings of Prey on sale for $14.99 and IGN has it reviewd at 8.3

I like fighter pilot games so the price is really good. But i just wanted to see if anyone has played it and wat they thought about it before i buy. Is there a main character and/or a storyline?

I tried out the demo. It was pretty good but you really need the stick controller for this one, the controls are so complicated on the keyboard.

It was designed for consoles first, so it's pretty much "sim-light". It's got some fantastic graphics and it's not a bad game. THe biggests drawback for me is that the mission victory conditions didn't reflect the difficulty settings you select. I play a lot of flight sims, so I set Wings of Prey up as a simulation (limited ammo, blackouts, red-outs, no HUD, no map updates, etc) but the mission orders are based on arcade settings. If you're only carrying 2 bombs, there's no way to kill 16 tanks but this is what the game asks you to do.

If you're into flight sims and you have a joy stick, it's fun for a while but it doesn't hold a candle to IL-2.

don't buy it

it uses a extra client named yuplay and you get limited installs after that you have to contact the dev's and ask them to reset.....

I regret buying it..........check the forums on steam

Only get it of you have a flight stick. The game itself is quite good, there isnt much of a story but there is quite a few single player missions. The multiplayer is almost dead though. It also has heavy DRM, so if that affects your decision to purchase a game, be wary of that.

I say give the demo a try and decide from there.

I thought it was an alright game. Its nowhere near as good as 1946, but its still decent. The graphics are amazing for it. Cant wait for Cliffs of Dover

I'd wait for a better sale. The DRM and multiplayer system is pretty archaic and the campaign is really just a bunch of skirmish missions back to back. If you have no other options for a flight game though, it's fun combat.
