I'm guilty. Last one was Oblivion but that had all expansions which I didn't have. I like Steam.

Wow, I didn't even realize that SC4 had been released on Steam. That's news to me.

But I wouldn't buy the game again just for that. I don't see the trouble in swapping out game discs.

I admit that I brought S.T.A.L.K.E.R - Shadow of Chernobyl on Stream for $2 during the Christmas sale, even though I had the boxed copy. Auto update of patahes and mods was half reasons. I later thought it was a waste of $2, but then there was the 'loyalty deal' for Call of Pripyat, being $10 off if you already had S.T.A.L.K.E.R game on Steam. I lucked out there. 8)

If it's dirt cheap, I'll buy it on steam even if I already have the boxed copy. Just because it's more convenient.

Deus Ex was one example I can think of.

If the price is right. What I've been trying to do is sell the cd versions of my games for the cost of the game on steam :D

Only Deus Ex, and only because it was worth the money not to have to figure out how to get it to run properly on Win7 64.

I've done this with most of my games because its easier to access my games and it saves on space.

Only one ArmA 2: Operation Arrowhead, I ordered it from the UK but it was taking way longer than usual so I bought it off Steam. I'll probably end up selling the physical copy though.

I also own a couple of games on Steam that I already had on 360. Borderlands because it came out a week earlier on 360 :P, GTA:IV because it was $7.50 during the sale and I wanted all those cool mods, also Mass Effect 1 ($5 on sale) and Oblivion because it runs like 10 times better on PC plus wanted the expansions.

I haven't duplicated any retail game with a digital purchase, at least yet. I suppose when I finally get the point where I find my disc version is getting too worn out to work consistently (I try my best to take care of them, so I'm not in danger...yet), I'll do it. I've considered it before for games I really like, but it's like "GTA4 for $7.50? Meh...if I wait another year, I could save another $2.50, if not more."

I have bought several games again (for the 2nd time) on Steam, but I do it only in a good promo -- otherwise no way.

I like Steam very much, think it's the best gaming system ever, and I'm trying to focus my collection there.

For instance, In this last summer sale I bought about 6 or 7 repeated titles...

Yea but then again so is storing all these PC games. I don't have the space, the patience, nor the dedication to keep up with my physical media. Sometimes convenience is worth the extra money.

I did the same thing. I already had the pc version and the ps3 version. I gave both of those to my friend and now i only have the steam version.
