So, everytime I start steam app, the login window asks me for my user name and password. For the last 4 years it never happened. Is there a way to turn it off to login automaticly?

Thanks in advance

I fail to find any problems there. For me it always asks for my username and password whenever I start Steam.

There should be an option when you log in to say 'sign in automatically' or something. I've always had it set that way and never get the prompt when I open Steam and it logs in straight away by itself.

It could be that you are using a registry/hard disk cleaning program and it is erasing the cache files that Steam uses to store your encrypted login information. If I use CCleaner for example, when I start Steam it says it can't connect the first time, but the second time it works every time. It may seem inconvenient but this prevent anyone from hacking your account with unorthodox means such as session hijacking or ip spoofing.

Sometimes something might go wrong with your login information, most of the time, deleting clientregistry.blob, it'll once again ask for your login information and if auto login is selected, it shouldn't ask again next time.

My Steam client logs in automatically. There's just this box with two buttons that asks me whether I want to go online or start in offline mode. Try logging in to your Steam client, then click on the "Steam" menu on the top-left corner of the Steam window, then go to "Settings." On the "Account" settings tab, make sure the box that says "Don't save account credentials on this computer" is NOT ticked. This setting is usually meant for offline mode, but it may have an effect on logging in as well. Give it a go anyway.
