Yup, that's right. This week is LucasArt's week sale. Today is SW:The Force Unleashed Ultimate Sith Edition for 7.50 euros. I don't think I'll get it since I heard bad things for the PC version and I've already got the normal version on the 360.

What are you guys excited to get?

Edit: Also the Star Wars collection is 50% off at 45 euros. This seems more interesting, I'll have to think about it.

Hah, that was on sale for the same price on D2D last week. Wasn't sure about it then, not sure about it now. I played it on 360 but never bothered finishing it...

wait isnt it like 30 GB? I have enough trouble finding 10 GB of free space.

I've got every LA title worth having, and a few that aren't so nothing really for me. Maybe Republic Commando, people have always praised it and I've been to lazy to pick it up. Might be a good tie over between now and CIV 5's release.

its not the greatest game, and it was ported by aspyr. The framerate is capped at 30fps and the graphics arent all that much better than console. Sure its the best version still (once patched), but I dont think its worth even 7.50. Funny how the game sold like what 8 million copies now?

I would skip it. I think the controls would be better on 360 anyways.

Same here. I was thinking of getting the Star Wars pack until I realized that I already own most of the games on disk. All I really want are the old original Jedi Knight games (pre-outcast) and that would cost me about 13 euros.

Well I'd probably play it with a controller anyway, assuming I could. It doesn't sound like it'd be much better on PC though, that's for sure :)

I was thinking about Jedi Outcast, assuming it will be on sale... since I kind of want to play it again and I'm not sure I can find the disc. I've also heard good things about Republic Commando but have never tried it myself.

naw, its actually better on pc, but not up to pc standards at all. The console versions werent exactly perfect, especially the ps3 version. In the end though, regardless of platform, the game isnt very good.

I have played the PC version from start to finish with my 360 controller. Its still garbage really.

Jedi outcast and Jedi academy are awesome games single player and multiplayer wise. Jedi Academy still has a very active community from what I've seen. Republic commando is a good game, but once you beat it you will never look back on it...ever.

ROFL @ Lucasarts Week, do they even have enough content on the PC these days to even justify a "Lucasarts day" never mind a week. Ah well nice to have a week where I won't be spending money on steam after all I already own most of the decent Lucasarts games from years ago and they haven't exactly produced anything recent on the PC worth buying.

I'm not sure how I feel about The Force Unleashed. Absurd disk space requirements aside, it looks like a pretty decent game. The price is definitely right. Can someone playing the Steam version confirm the actual install size?

Also, I really hope that by "LucasArts Week" they don't actually mean "Star Wars Week". Some of us just aren't all that enthralled by the Star Wars universe anymore (the games are technically movie tie-ins, after all), despite how solid some of the games are. Fingers crossed for a great deal on the new Monkey Island remakes!

But hey, a sale is a sale. No complaints here. 8)

I agree, the force unleashed is one of the worst star wars games out. I wish they had kotor 2 on steam, I havent played that yet...

Its like 30 gigs installed, with 26 in backlog skip it! When I think about what is wrong with console games, the force unleashed has every single problem current console games often have rolled up in one game.

Cool, thanks for the heads up. I've seen a handful of mostly positive reviews for the game, but what you said echoes pretty exactly what I had suspected. So kind thanks, I do believe you just saved me $7.50. ;)

[QUOTE="adamosmaki"]Is this the Force unleashed that needed a $5000 pc in order to play on console level? JangoWuzHere

Huh?

When the first force unleashed was being developed for every platform under the sun except the PC Lucasarts responded to questions about why no PC version with :-

Our goal was we wanted to get this game to as many people as possible. I definitely wish it had been possible. However the PC being the gaming platform that it is, someone with a $4,000 high-end system would definitely be able to play the Euphoria, the DMM and really technical elements of the game. But someone with a low-end PC would have a watered down experience, they would have to turn all the settings down and it wouldn't be the same game. On the other hand if we made that game for as many people as possible, because we are trying to make mass market games, something that everybody can enjoy, well then it's not taking advantage of what those $4,000 systems can do. So one way or the other depending on how you build that lead PC SKU, it's not going to be for the same amount of people, it's going to be not as good or only for a select few people.Lucasarts moron

They further compounded their douche bag status by announcing there was going to be a PC version. They announced it on 1st April and later on admitted it was an april fools joke. Seriously Lucasarts can go where the sun doesn't shine and where George Lucas pulls all his ideas from.

So it was $4000. I stand corrected

Well inflation is a killer these days, so I imagine if we weren't getting force unleased 2 they would be going "oh now you need a $5000 PC". Oddly enough my £500 quadcore with GTX260 was able to play force unleased at 2048 x 1152 @ 30fps (with the odd dip now and again).

I really can't see there being anything for sale this week on steams "lucasarts week" that will entice me to part with money. It is pretty damn tragic that Lucasarts rep has sunk so low. Still hopefully someone somewhere will get something out of this sale. After all there has to be a caveman that hasn't played Jedi Knight Academy yet :P

and that was a bad port. Imagine if they made a good port how much better that GTX260 would run it. As for the Lucas arts week somehow i hope that they put grim fandango for sale ( though i really really doubt it )

Only thing I would be interested in getting from Lucasarts is Tales of Monkey Island, so if that goes on sale then I might check it out. Oh there also the Jedi Knight games too.

I literally JUST bought the Jedi Knight collection this previous Saturday for $20. Still a fantastic deal in my eyes, but I have a feeling that it'll probably drop down to $5-10 by Friday. I'd only lose $10-15 from not waiting but hey, it's a deal nonetheless.

Does anyone know by chance what the next titles will be?

I bought The Force Unleashed and KoTOR, will skip Empire at War and what I really want is Jedi Academy to enter this promo...
