Guys I was just wondering when this thing is supposed to begin and if any of you have any clue as to what games we may be seeing getting massive price reductions? I already have a huge backlog of games to play, but if there is an amzing deal or two, Ill bite.

Supposedly, June 24th, or something like that.

God help us all.

I love the Steam Summer Sale. It's like a holiday, then you have to go to school and ask your teacher when the next holiday is. :P

I'm personally pretty well sated with Steam sales. I can't think of anything off the top of my head I would get right now. After picking up Dragon Age Ultimate, MoH Airborne, BFBC2, Ghost Recon 1 w/ all expansions, Rainbow Six 3 Gold, CoD 1 and 2 and 4, Civ 4 Complete, Chaos Theory, and MoH Allied Assault Warchest in the last couple of months I'm kind of sale-sated.

Gah. I have a $30 budget this time. Was only $24 last time. And yes that seems like a little but that goes a LONG way if you spend the right way. :D. I can expand that budget if I can get another money flow.

That was my budget too last year. I got Team Fortress 2, Civilization 4 Complete Edition, GTA Vice City, Audiosurf, and Rome Total War all under $30 smacks.

A budget during Steam sales? Pfft! This is the time where you shouldn't have a budget and let loose.. because you'll end up paying more if you let these great deals pass on by.

lol problem is - I dont want to have a huge backlog either or get games I wont play. Ive learned to curb my impulses and buy what I know Ill play and what I know is worth it according to what I like to play and such. I feel like its far more impressive to get what you want while being on a budget and resisting your own impulsive tendencies. I DO however break budget if I really want a game and have already spent my budget. But thats only if the game is a really good deal. lol can you believe that some game sales go up but more than 1000% during these sales and other Steam sales? Its awesome and so helpful to the devs.

lol I was just yankin' your chain. I think I spent no more than $75 during the last winter steam sale. Worth every penny though! :D You're right. If you become too impulsive you end up buying crappy games even if they're only $5. I've learned to save my $5 and put that towards something better.

A Budget of $50. I won't have access to the net for a few days of the sale. But $50 in a Steam sale can mean 6 very reasonable and recent games which you would pay 5 times as much at the local store... 8)

I'm just waiting for Bad Company 2 to show up during the sale, because I know it will. I am finally getting a PC capable of running it next week.

I got that during the EA sale a few weeks back and have been playing practically every day since. Good to hear a new person will be converted to its brand of unadulterated fantasticness :D

Uggh, I'll be at freshman orientation for most of this, hopefully I'll pick up some wifi at the hotels on the way, I know I'll have it in the dorms.
