For some reason when i click on steam it appears in my toolbar but well, not well, on the screen. When i go into task manager, i press switch to and it still doesnt show up. It worked yesterday....I have a windows 7.

End the process in task manager and try starting it again. If that doesn't work try restarting.
Steam can be a b**** sometimes on 64-bit OS.
Well have to agree with Vetnor just reinstall it theres a pretty easy way of doing it. Just goto the folder where its installed and delete everything except the steamapps folder and the steam.exe.
Then just double click on the steam.exe and it will reinstall itself.

The steamapps folder IS your games folder. Just don't delete it.

No all your games are contained in the steamapps folder which you're not deleting. When you start steam again after reinstalling it will say update paused next to all your games, click resume updating and they'll all change to 100% ready instantly.
So yeah just delete everything within the Steam folder except for steamapps and the Steam.exe and you should be fine.
