Stick with the 26" (1360x768) or go the 32" (1920*1080)?

Hi, currently I'm using a 26" Samsung (1360x768) lcd for my pc/xbox 360/dvd monitor. I tried using a digital cable but the screen looks really bad compared to VGA. I've been doing some reading, and apparently it is because the cable can't transmit my tv's native res. So I've been thinking about possibly selling this one off and buying a 32" Samsung series 6 lcd with 1920x1080 res. This way, I'm sure the digitial cable (dvi-hdmi) would work fine as it would support the native res, and I could also play higher res in games, and Blu-ray would look much better I could imagine. What do you think? Would it be worth it, considering I could get a few hundred out of my current tv/monitor?

Just to add. When im playing xbox or pc games, I'd be a metre away from the screen, if that.
