I bought this game when it released awhile ago and even with different parts in my computer I still have the same problem I had back then.

It installs fine. But whenever I launch the program it crashes to desktop immediately. Searched bug online. None of the people who asked ever got their question answered. Anyone have this same problem and somehow figured it out?

vampire caused an Access Violation (0xc0000005)
in module vampire.exe at 001b:00000001.

I have reinstalled 3 times. Tried official patch by itself. No luck. Tried with unofficial patch, same thing.

Specs are:

Pentium 4 3 gig.

2 gig of ram

7600 GT.

I have the latest drivers on my video card and I'm using XP SP2.

Any advice at all?

This guy installed Python 2.5 along with the patches and seemed to get it working.

Whether it would work for you is another matter.

I don't have this problem, but I did some research for you, http://forums.gamespy.com/bloodlines_tech_support/b50391/19649888/r19650065/. Read through the whole topic, and see if it's the same problem, and then you will find the solution in the last post.

I hope this helps.

Edit: I've just noticed it's the same link as the one provided by the guy above me.

i've been playing the game lately, and there hasn't been a problem since i patched it up to v5.5 ( unofficial patches ) and started a new game after the patches.

i think you have to be sure of 2 things -- 1. you have to patch it up to v5.5; 2. you start a new game after the patching. i think the issues have been entirely ironed out, so chances are good that your problem would be solved for good when you fully patch the game. :)

I had horrible experiences with VT:M before going to Vista and upgrading to my current PC. Back when it was released I had a modest PC that could barely run it and it crashed constantly, then I got a higher quality PC that matched the age of the game and it crashed on one certain mission (one to continue the story) and so I couldn't complete the game.

It's just a buggy game that works sometimes and doesn't others.
