Stop Pirating Games and Start Buying Them..

Does anyone think this would boost the questionable dying pc gaming market?

First of all I said 'Questionable' meaning it can be argued.

Second of all I don't have a plan to convince everyone to do this.

Third of all my point of this thread was to ask you guys if people were buying more games rather then downloading them, do you think it would boost the PC market?

Maybe when developers start making good games. Example : Most people don't pirate valve games.

I was thinking, couldnt games just have it to where the patches replace the launcher.exe (the file the cracks overright) and also have it to where the game wont start if you dont have the latest patch, so the pirate is forced to overright his crack, then therefor not being able to play the game?

When you start restricting pirate's they get angry and become more rebellious and more desperate to crack the game.

So I don't think that would be a good idea..

Every game patch since game patches were invented usually replace the .exe to where a pirated game doesn't work...until it just gets cracked again a couple [hours] later.

This is a stupid topic, thanks for stating the obvious. Point is, you're not gonna change what I do or what anyone else does by being so bland. I don't think you could change anything no matter what you do actually.

Having to need an internet connection to play a single player game is impractical. For multiplayer games what you're saying is the norm.

No. Gaming has turned into a massive Hollywood like behemoth where games cost multimillions of dollars to make and most people don't have pcs capable of playing those games at a better quality than they could on consoles. PC gaming will survive by catering to the long term fans who only buy pc games by continuing their classic franchises, or by churning out generic multiplats from the glopitta glopitta machine. Actually, pc gaming will probably grow very strongly again further into this console gen since they are expecting the consoles to last until 2016.

How about just the ones you play? Oh I know...that's asking way too much from such a fine upstanding citizen as yourself lol.

PC gaming is dieing.... in retail. I think that is where everyone gets confused. They hear PC gaming is dieing, but in reality it isn't. It is just that retail outlets like Walmart, Best Buy, and others (Gamestop......) are either putting up less games for sale or completely removing the PC section alltogether. But things like steam/d2d have skyrockted in sales (because everyone switched... or a lot....)

Yes many people do pirate games, but PC games can still sell and sell very well.

I also see consoles games going digital in the future. I mean we already see a few games that are digital (and retail) and i have no doubt we will see more until all games on all platforms are digital.

Easier said than done. People are too stingy for their own reasons.

I do buy my games. :?

Of course, I hardly ever buy them at full price, but that's because I'm cheap.
