strange goings on with my laptop keyboard... help?

i've been forced to plug in an external keyboard for my laptop as the key mapping on my laptop keyboard is freaking out.

in fact ill type out all the letters on my laptop keyboard starting with Q:

qwerty456-asdfgh123zxcvbn0

that should transcript as Q through to M...

anyone know whats up with it?

Turn Num Lock off :P I had the same problem. Num Lock basically activates the FN key on the laptop so you can use the numeric pad on the keyboard.

Lol, I almost took my computer into the shop when it happened to me, but when I went on vacation, i was forced to take my laptop, I pushed every key and it was fixed :P
