Strategy game please!

Ok I really want a strategy game but not sure which one to get, theres so many to choose from but I want one a bit like the on listed below and I'm kinda new to strategy so yeh. Civilization 4 (really pushes your mind), Sins of a Solar Empire, Caesar 3 (oldie), Age of Empires (series).

Edit: I really don't think spore is a strategy.

Edit: The one game has 0 available slots for any player and 2 for friends, so like I said easier to get game with someone you know.
