So I played SFIV fine for about 3 months. Then one day, I tried to start it up, and as soon as I clicked SF4launcher.exe (I'm using vista by the way) I got a "Street Fighter IV has stopped working" pop-up. It has never worked since. I've tried reinstalling, plus a bunch of other methods, nothing seems to work. Does anyone know what the problem may be?

System Specs:

OS: Vista Home Premium 64-bit

RAM: 7 Gigs DDR2

Processor: AMD Phenom x4 9650 2.3GhZ ea. core

Video card: Nvidia 9800GTX+

Thanks in advance.

Yes, I can log into it separately.

Updated video card drivers, as well as Chipset drivers?FelipeInside

I updated video card drivers, and my chipset drivers are up to date as far as I know, and nothing has changed.

I have tried this, no difference.

Thanks though.

delete your saved files for the game. i think is somewhere in "my documents" and then reinstall again.

i hope that this works. if not contact capcom for service.

I think there might have been a windows update, this happened quite a while ago.

This started happening a few months ago, I'm not sure if I have a system restore date.

playing a different game or installing one may change the system settings which may make the config file mess up and make the game not work so change the name of the config file and see if that works

I changed the name from StreetFighterIV.cfg to supergo.cfg. No change. :(

My bad, if a virus scan doesn't solve anything then I guess the only thing you could do is reinstall Windows.

I would uninstall and delete every folder for it. I don't have street fighter 4 but, this sounds like one of the config files got corrupted.

There are usually config files in a hidden folder under documents and settings > user profile > Local Settings. Delete the folder associated with the game there. When you uninstall games it usually doesn't delete that folder.

Check the region for non-unicode in your regional and language settings and make sure its set to english (us) [australian works for me aswell but dunno for others].

I get that message if i change the region settings
