I was thinking about getting Split/Second but I'm still not entirely sure so I thought I might ask here... The last street racing game I really enjoyed was Need For Speed Most Wanted (and Burnout games), so if there is anything similar, I'd really appreciate if you introduced me to it. I've tried the latest NFS Hot Pursuit but I found it rather average than good... So... should I get Split/Second or is there anything better you'd recommend ? (I heard that Blur or Grid are good as well) Also, I kinda miss the customization (or tuning) elements from NFS:MW so it would be a plus if the game you recommend had it.

nfs: prostreet

test drive: unlimited 2

around the time most wanted came out the racing games were in an open world street racing fad.. since then its evolved to a more specified market with stuff life dirt & motorstorm & fuel

the two above should scratch some of the itch but it wont make it go away.. nothign since mos twanted hass been really a msot wanted supllement.

though there is a new burnout coming...

I am really enjoying test drive unlimited 2. It is also on sale right now at direct2drive for 50%, only 19.99 I believe. I think the sale ends today at noon.

Split second velocity is somewhat an average game, depending on your tastes. Its more arcadic than actual street racing. If you want to stick to the NFS franchise, maybe the new Hot Pursuit is the best choice, but you already tried it and found it somewhat average. Blur seems like a mario kart game to me. Its more for the fun rather than the actual competitiveness to win the race, though at some times the game can get pretty hard. I've only played one burnout game which is Burnout Paradise. You can take cars out like NFS Hot Pursuit, but the opponents would always respawn. There is no customisation feature so you can't customise the cars. The best you can do is select the colours of the cars that you want. GRID is apparently one hectic game. There is no customisation unfortunately, but the gameplay, visuals and audio are superb. It adds a realistic element to the game which make is pretty cool. Of all the racing games that are out on PC, I would suggest that GRID is your best bet. Try the game out first by downloading the free demo and give it a shot and see what you thank about the game.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys, I really appreciate it. In the end, I decided to get NFS Shift 2 Unleashed. Although it isn't really a street racing game, it does have some customization elements, a good gameplay and so far I really enjoy it.
