Here are some new non-Crysis screenshots powered by the cutting edge 3D-game-technology CryENGINE 2. The current (previously unseen) in-game screen captures are from a PC mod for the upcoming game Crysis, and a military simulation Vigilance.

Crysis beta was great. It's not even the focus yet it betters Battlefield 2's gameplay.

I've read that it is a military training simulator so probably no. Also, Crysis MP beta is awesome, better than most of the MP shooters out there.

I dunno man... the beta gameplay (and optimisation - but it's a beta, so don't flame me for that comment) is very disorganised and 'free for all.' From what I've seen so far in the beta everyone just grabs a vehicle/boat for themselves and speeds off. There's NO emphasis on teamplay whatsoever, at least, Crytek have tried to encourage some teamwork, but it's just not enough. Ugh and not to mention the combat - it's horrible. Infantry combat = spray, spray and spray, jump around like a monkey, side-step continuously... I can't stand it tbf. Spawnkilling/Teamkilling is another thing that really drags the gameplay down. I was hoping for proper tactical gameplay in Crysis MP (combat and teamwork wise), but it's looking the complete opposite atm :( On the bright side though, I LOVE THE NANO-SUIT!

I think maybe Crytek could learn a thing or two from VALVe (TF2!).

Well they look ok, still i have a small problem with the first three, something just does not look right, nature just doesn't look good. When it comes to city stuff it's OK but it wold be really nice if someone actually thought "hey, why don't i make an engine that can render nice nature"... (great grass for example but it just mixes with the rest of the things in the shot...)

IMO better if they choose Quake Wars as example of teamwork (much more sophisticated,TF2 seems a run 'n gun compared to). Also Obsidian Edge II looks awesome -as any material with the CE2-, but the screens talks no much about the gameplay. I expect a slow-pace realistic military fps mod based on the CE2, could OE II do de job?

This is exactly what im talking about...people making comments like "fanboy" just because people have a disagreement on a game. How can you be a fanboy because you disagree with the style or play of a game!

Have you played the beta? The suit alone brings so much to the gameplay, its not even funny.

For example: your just joined a game, and you only have a pistol, yet youre being chased by someone with a minigun. So you turn on speed, run away, then hide behind a rock (which is further hidden thanks to beautiful and practical vegetation) using stealth. Then you turn on strength, sneak up behind the minigunner, and pummel him in the head! Steal his minigun, turn on the armor of the suit, and voila! You are now ready to mow down some fools!

Crysis will be a great game for its gameplay. The visuals are merely icing on the cake....very hardware-demanding icing, that is.

As for those pics, wow!

The really bright ones still look fake, but when you add those shadows its coming damn close to photorealism.

Are these mods going to be free?

First of all "Without good gameplay" is a statement, he should have specificially stated that he didn't find the gameplay impressive. Secondly this thread is about a mod for Crysis, therefor any discussion about Crysis's gameplay is irrelevant.

They aren't "stunning" to me. They look really good until you click the thumbnails and get the whole picture. They don't look bad but not as good as Crysis either (in my opinion)

Works great in THEORY.

How about the fact that you could only run away for a few seconds before running out of energy, therefore disabling you to turn the stealth on, and disabling you from going behind the guy and hitting him.

A real situation of the Beta (which I do have and have played for a few hours).

You see person with minigun, you turn speed on, they spray like a madman, you die quickly because you turned shield off. End.

The crosshair is horrible, and so is the Gameplay.

I reserve final judgement until the demo, which is the true representation. .

well thats part of the challenge, knowing when to turn off speed so you have 50% energy left or so for stealth. Also, knowing how to move while stealthed helps as well (crawling uses less energy while running will drain your energy in about 5 steps!).

The suit sounded great in theory, and works even better in practice!

And how is the crosshair worse than, oh, any of the Call of Duty crosshairs? Not to mention the iron sights are there for a good reason: crosshair for up close combat, iron sights for distance. I dont see the issue here.

But to each his own opinion. And I do agree, a demo will give a MUCH better representation of the game.

I agree a lot of the things sound good in theory. From the gameplay I've seen (I haven't actually played it, so my opinion doesn't count for much), it looks pretty simplistic and run-and-gun. Sure, the ability to add mods to your guns and the suit's abilities are cool, but honestly how often can you get out of combat for enough time where you can change your mods around? People are going to get good enough that some of the systems will break down. Take BF2 for instance: great concepts, but gameplay is ruined by the gayness of players (bunny-hopping, instaprone, medic TKs). I still can't believe Joint Ops wasn't more popular than BF2. I have some sort of fetish for that game.

But yes, the graphics Cryengine offers are amazing. I have a hard time believing though that anything below an 8600 could run its games decently.

Crysis MP is pretty dull, worse than BF sometimes since vehicles aren't readily available. Beta was ok, slight optimisation errors but it's a beta so you have to expect that, The action isn't there. Some points I walk around wondering where is the enemy?? This is on a map with over 15 players a team........... then I ultimately get shot by one of the 1000000000 snipers on the map, since that's all this game is .... a snipers paradise. The single player will definitely be worth it, but multi wise? So far i'd not even touch it if I got the game, I would just play the single over a few times instead.

Remember also, graphics aren't everything, Blizzard is one who can teach you a good lesson about that.

I don't intend on changing your mind, but IMHO, Crysis MP is the most refreshing FPS online experience I've had in years; the only game that compares is FEAR Capture the Flag when good players are on both teams and no one's cheating. WOT WOOT !@!!

Try run and gunning and you will be dead for sure. Since Ive actually played the beta. You can add mods very quickly, I can put on a silencer, a scope and change to incendiary ammo in less than 3 seconds. Also changing suit mode takes a split second. Eg. just press V and push your mouse up/left/right/down and there you go...
