hello gamespot,

i am here to talk about why windows vista home premium is a total letdown. i am trying to do my homework when suddenly a notification comes up in the corner saying ' windows needs restarting' there is no way out of it not even task manager. so i click restart now and then it restarts which takes 10 min during update. then the windows logo comes up and blank screen. when i hold down the off button it does the same thing, i tried 20 times and still same thing. anyhelp

You have to wait, maybe your computer is bloated and slow so it takes really long. Also you can set it not to notify you and turn off auto updates like i do  Nothing wrong with Vista.

From the Security part of the Windows Vista Control Panel. Obviously if you don't update your computer you will be more open to exploits.

if you are getting a blank screen just wait it out if it dosent work go onto safe mode and do a system restore to the time before the update also to turn of your automatic updates go to control panel security center and turn of automatic updates
