Stuttering Games

My problem is, during games (any games at all online AND offline games) i get random lag spikes. The game will be fine for about 2 minutes, and then will randomly start to lag and the audio will start to crackle. This willlastforapproximately1 or 2 minutes, then the game will return to normal for another two minutes before lagging andcracklingagain. As i said this happens on both online AND offline games.

I have tried everything i can think off to solve the issue but nothing seems to work

I have tried using Advanced system care to clean my system and remove any unwanted files and bug's etc. I have tried using Game booster to close down any services and operations that may be going on in the background whileI'mgaming, I have tried running the game with a high priority level, I have tried playing the online games on a wireless and wired network (two different networks), I have tried playing the games in high and low detail but none of these work.

My system specs:

AMD Turion X2 ultra 64

ATI Radeon HD 4570 Graphics 512 MB

4 GB Memory

Windows Vista Home Premium

I will be extremely grateful for any assistance with this problem

Hi there =D Yes i have checked if all my drivers are up to date and they are. How would i go about turing the file indexing off?GENER-AL

Never tried it in Vista, and tbh, it's a long shot.

you dont run memtest, you boot from it. You download the iso, burn it to a disk, then boot from the disk and let it run.

btw to turn off indexing in vista or win 7 (or xp for that matter), go to my computer (just COMPUTER in vista and 7), right click on ur hard drive(s) and click on properties. at the bottom of the properties box u'll see a check box that sould already be ticked for indexing, untick it and click apply. after it starts applying u'll get an error message that will ask if u want ot ignore the issue (its not a real issue bw). jsut click ignore all and wait till its done (will take bewteen 5-25mins depending on PC power)

Graphics card dying/overheating? *shrugs* I dont know, but Ive heard a few people complaining about their screens getting weird or them getting hard lag while playing online causing them to have to quit, and it was because of gpu overheating.

thanks fungfool69, but i figure it out =D and yeah i duno muddvader, the laptop is made for gaming so you would have thought they had thought about venting the heat better, im not sure. im gona do the checks and way, i tested the temp of my processsors when playing a game on maximum detail yesterday and it was 82 degrees, im not sure if thats good or bad though.GENER-AL

Only thing I can think is the hard drive is accessing for something every now and then. If you've just bought the computer it may still be indexing etc or defragmenting or something whilst you play which may cause these issues. I would defragment your computer sometime and see if that helps.

Been suggested to flash my BIOS so i'll post if that works once i've done it =D
