Does anyone else experience a lot of stuttering while playing GoW?

I'd like to think that my comptuer is more then capable of running GoW without any hitches. I've installed the patch, which is said to fix graphic/gameplay issues and such...but I haven't noticed any improvement.

Does GoW make use of dual core and SLI? Even if it doesn't, I don't think I should be having any issues - specs listed below.

  • AMD 64 X2 5600+ (OC'ed to 3.13GHz)
  • 2x 8800GTS 640MB in SLI (driver 169.28 - cards are OC'ed to 655/955)
  • 4GB DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) memory

My video cards don't exceed 75 degree C and my CPU doesn't go over 40 degree C while the game is running...When the game runs smooth I'm pulling 40-60+ FPS with all settings maxed and Vsync on.

Any suggestions or does GoW need some work still?

I defrag once a week, whether I need it or not. I haven't seen any noticable improvements when I do. I've got two different programs I use to clean registry and same goes for spyware. I'm virus free, according to Norton.

I don't run any background programs (aside from Norton) when I'm playing....

Oh well for now, I guess. I do hope another patch comes out that enables SLI (if it isn't already) or improves SLI with GoW and improves the performance issues.

It's hard to define better here...

I'm running my games on a 226cw Samsung monitor (22" wide screen), so my native resolution is 1680 x 1050. Even with all setting in GoW put to medium, the 360 cannot come close to the same quality GoW shows on the PC. The game did have some slow down on the 360 in spots, but it never stuttered to a halt at any point. I know that GoW was very well optimized for the 360....too bad I can't say the same thing about the PC version (patched).

I still experience stuttering with medium settings on, not quite as much, but it is still there and it gets very annoying. With medium settings I'm easily running 50+fps throughout the game, so I can't figure out why the game stutters and even comes to a halt for a few seconds at random spots as I play.

Graphic and quality/apperance is better on PC at medium or better settings, but the 360 is better optimized. I suppose I'd much rather take better optizmied over pretty looks in a game; though it's nice to have pretty looks, too.

No offence but the pc version is better. Hugley better controls and the graphics are so much better and sharper on the pc version not to mention extra content. Stuttering does occur every now and then but it doesnt happen much. Framerate wise it runs perfect with no slow down at all on full settings.

My guess it is the SLI. Disable it once and try it.

Even if it doesn't make use of dual core, it should still run fine with your cards...

I have a tweak to get higher frames and to get rid of the stuttering. However I dont want to post in here because I'm not suppose to be giving out this information to people. I also have tweaks for audio as well to obtain EAX 5.0. If you guys maybe have a windows live account or msn messenger, I can step by step you.

I had it big time but I just upgraded the GFX card drivers and now it's running at full everything.
