Suddenly left-handed on Counter Strike :S

I've been playing CS (not source) for a few months but recently had to get a new motherboard because my old one failed.

I reinstalled CS but for some reason the gun keeps going onto the left hand not right and it's really bugging me.

I've tried faffing about with the video settings and pressing 'h' and going into the menu to change hands but nothing will work :? I've tried every solution I could find online but no luck so far.

Does anybody know how to resolve this?

The only other change to my computer is that I've got Win7 on it now but I doubt it'd make much difference...

try cl_righthand 1 on console.

There must be a setting about it in options character setup.

It usually happens when you alt-tab ? or suddenly?

Not sure I understand... at start-up screen, Options... Multi-player, Advanced Options (button on lower left), you set Weapon Orientation to Right-handed and it's still not working?

You could always just try to get used to it. I switched for playing left handed a long time ago (in game left handed....) and while at first it just seems awkward and you will play worse (for a short time) you get used to it and it will feel perfectly normal. Plus that way you get a bunch of poeple asking you how or why the hell you play left handed.

And don't ask me why i switched to left handed because i do not remember why.

It's already set to right-handed and it's still appearing left-handed in game.

If you're sure it's set correctly in options, this is really odd. Do you have anything in your autoexec file? Shouldn't after you reinstalled.

That is how pros play anyway. Right hand on the mouse but the gun on the left hand it is way more BA

You do realize that if you uninstall a game on Steam, you need to go into your steamapps folder and delete the remaining contents of that game to make sure all settings/info from your previous install is removed...right?

Most like you can find that folder here: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps (or there might be a folder with your account name you have to go through, I don't remember off the top of my head)

Once you get to that steamapps folder, locate any files and/or folders associated with the game you just uninstalled and delete them.

Then you'll want to reinstall your Steam game - which would be Counter Strike: Source in this case.
