What have you played? What sides of the genre fascinate you? Fantasy? In which case I'd say check out The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and go from there, or maybe you're more sci-fi tilted in which case I'd say check out Mass Effect and its sequel. Also Fallout 3 is well worth a look in that case. Do you want a solo RPG game, or possibly an MMORPG? In which case I'd say check out World of Warcraft, Everquest 2, Aion or maybe Warhammer. Are you an old school RPG player, i.e. harking on back to the good ol' 16-bit and earlier days? Then maybe I'd recommend Eschalon: Book I or II or the likes. Action RPG? Check out Torchlight until Diablo 2 comes out.

Witcher or Dragon Age Origins than as both are based in fantasy worlds. You might like Oblivion. I personally did not but alot of people did so check it out and see if its something you might be into
