Suggestions for a good co-op PC game?

Hi,

I'm looking for a good co-op game for the pc for me and my wife to play. We have both grown tired of WoW, and are looking for something to fill time till diablo 3 comes out :).

My wife generally likes games that have some kind of RPG element in it, so I am looking for something like that. She was a real big fan of diablo 2 for example.

Right now my only thoughts are Darkspore or possably Magika, but I really don't know much about either.

Any recommendations would be appreciated. I'm not nessissairly looking at just new games either, if there is an older multiplayer game that you think I need to try, I would be happy to check them out too.

I know this isn't an RPG, but Left 4 Dead 2 is a fantastic co-op PC game. It is from the zombie survival "horror" genre (more like a B-rated movie), and has gotten fantastic critic reviews, and has a massive, thriving community.

If you're looking for a co-op RPG... I'm not sure if there is much out there beyond Diablo 2 or an MMO. How about some EverQuest? That game practically forges friendships.

Oh, and Magicka is a solid choice -- I've heard great things about it from my friends, and Yogscast on YouTube posted a hilarious series about it recently.

MineCraft could be another option. :)

Have a look at 'Titan Quest Gold'. Very similar kind of game to Diablo, so you should enjoy that one.

'Lara Croft: Guardian of Light' as well. It's a action-adventure rather than an RPG, but there's a free demo so you've got nothing to lose by checking it out.

And there's also 'Trine'. It's a platform puzzle game, so again not an RPG. It's local co-op only, so you'll need an extra controller to play it.

Portal 2 has great co-op though short it shouldn't be miss.
