I've always like the mystery genre in both movies and games, esp murders and serial killers :x. Anyways, I'd like some game suggestions for games with a good crime mystery and solving plot. I prefer PC games, but playstation ones are fine too.

I've played Heavy Rain, Still Life 1 & 2, and even some CSIs and Nancy Drew games LOL Theres also Mystery Island, but it doesn't deal with crime.

Nothing too scary too please, like Silent Hills :3

I dont mind if its actiony or just a point and click

Thankiess

Art of Murder series is pretty nice, altough obviously low budgeted. It's been consistently improving and the latest one (Art of Murder 3) is very solid.

Post Mortem (prequel to Still Life)

If you don't mind a bit more casual experience I can't recommend Women's Murder Club 1-3 enough.

Sinking Island is also very nice classic murder mystery game, with pretty cool clues gathering system

Overclocked was not much to be honest, for most of the time you get interviews and play the right memmory in your pda so the patients remembe what happen, bad ending too. Anyway i think we all now the previous game they developers of heavy rain have made: fahrenait/indigo prophecy and i also reccomend Pathologic. You spend some time in a town and have to interact with various people and the choices you make change the history, its a really weird game that worths to be experianced.

I came into the thread specifically to recommend what the person above me said: Fahrenheit (aka Indigo Prophecy). I never finished it, but it's a good thriller mystery game. There's a little action, but not much, so it doesn't require fast reflexes or FPS skills or anything like that for the most part. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fahrenheit_(video_game)

:D You never finished it. It turns into a interactive Matrix movie, and it does require some reflexes at the end. It's good that you haven't finished it you are stuck with the best moments of the game. The second half ruins the game completely.

I agree, i was enjoying that game and at some point it simply rush towards the end in a very poor way. They overdid it with the supenatural stuff.

Oh yeah, how could i forget. It's pretty awesome game. Very well made actually, excellent puzzles, voice acting, even graphics. The OP can also try Sherlock Holmes :The Awakened, and there's a game called Jack the Ripper.

I was surprised by the voice acting. There is one voice in the game that I would say is bad. Everything else is great.

The Jack the Ripper game is only the last in a series of Sherlock Holmes games. They have a website that lists all of them. There was also a point-and-click game made based on Agatha Christie's "And Then There Were None" (same name). It doesn't follow the plot of the book, so even if you've read the book that doesn't make the game any easier for you. I had lots of fun playing it. It was made by the same company that makes the Sherlock Holmes games, you should be able to find it from the site I linked to above, of you can just google for it. :)
