i know the big ones like alienware and falcon,, but what are some other suggestions

Well first off this would better off in the PC hardware forums and the people over there will know more about the topic.As for the laptops I think sites such as dell,hp,compaq and brands like that are pretty good when it comes to laptops...Also a good one is lenovo http://www.lenovo.com/us/en/ at least they used to be.Good luck.
