Definatly grab a AMD Radeon HD 2900XT 512mb there awsome for the price. If you wont OC or dont think you will be able to AMD X2 series cpus are a good choice but if you want to OC grab a low end c2d.

Grab AMD 5200+ or higher than dont go with intel if your not OCing unless you want to spend aloooot of money.

Yea AMD is the way for you then unless you have the money to get a descent c2d or the quad 6600 for around 290 very nice price for a quad but if not just go with AMD

Like I said if you feel like OCing intel is a little better but if not AMD is alot better and there still OCable but 3ghz is usually the OC cap for the X2 line

get a nice intel dual core maybe 2.66ghz, at least 2 gigs of ram, and 2 8800gtxs in sli mode. A 300gb 7200rpm hard drive. Then whatever else you want. And btw amd is not the way. Intel and Nvidia are the best out there right now. Thats not an opinion it's a fact. You can research it. Intel processors and nvidia cards are more high end than any of the amd/ati stuff.

He didnt eved say whats his budget and you recommend him 8800 GTX SLI. AMD can be the way. The only problem is that AMD need lot higher frequencies in order to compete whit Intel. E6600 is about the same as 6000+ while AMD champion needs 600Mhz higher frequency. If he want the best from the best, he will of course go for Intel/Nvidia combo. If he doesnt like to OC that doesnt means tha Intel procesors are crap. They are still better than AMDs. Maybe not for price but they are.
