supreme commander hardware issues...

yo guys ok , so i was playing some supcom skirmish with about 6 other AI and thats where the problems struck about 20 min in the game at some points my frame rate would go down to below 20 and to unplyable rates. im playing it on full high settings no AA 1280x1078 or somehtin like that

im running a core 2 duo E6400   

2 GB DDR2 667 ram

ATI 1950PRO

and VISTA ( :( )

anyone have any idea whats going on buecase i expected my system to run this fine.

turn some of your settings down. if your playing with 6 other AI theres loads of units your CPU has to manage and then your video card has to render them all. CYSYKO

i have tired turning my settings down to medium but i still get some bad FPS and anything below medium makes the game look like crap 

Ok, turn your settings down; you need more power for higher graphics options, especially considering you're playing Supreme Commander: one of the most graphicly intense games on the market today. Also, because you have Vista, I recommend that you should buy an 8800 series card (if you want to plan for the future). Also, you'll be able to turn graphics options up as well with that 8800 card (But your wallet will shrink).

Quite simply to play that game with that many AI's you need a quad core or you have to kill your settings hard.

Recently a site published an articile showing supcom getting huge boosts from quad cores when playing alot of AI's

The same article also showed that SUPREME COMMANDER runs significantly slower in VISTA then it does in XP so I suggest you make your system a dual boot and play Supreme Commander with XP, that alone will give you a big boost.

Why Ai's though man :p just go play online, it's much more fun, though if you play a game that big I reccommend you make sure everyone in the game has a dual core or better before you start it.

DUDE WTF !!!! That PC specs is more then enough to play SUPCOM. I would say check for a new update or something, one of my friends has the same PC with an XFX 8800GTX XXX Edition and the same thing happens 2 him some times. Theres an update or something that needs to be done on your system.

well hes also playing with 6 AI players chief. can you imaging ehow many units there are? the cpu has to do physics and AI for each individual unit and the GPU has to render them. if you have a thousand units, theres a gonna be a slowdown, which is why i said play with less AI,lower the settings,or upgrade.
