Okay this is really bugging me, and I hope someone can help me out.

My video card comes with an S-Video out port, and comes with, what I think is a component attachment.  Here's the pic:

Now, I've tried plugging my xbox 360 into the coloured slots there, but I don't know how to get a picture on my monitor.  Any help would be great.  I've spent like the last 6 hours trolling google, trying to find an answer -_-

I'm pretty sure those are outputs, not inputs. Why not just hook the 360 straight up to the monitor with the 360 VGA cable? Most recent monitors have both VGA and DVI connectors so you could have both your 360 and PC hooked up. You'd just have to push a button to change between the two.

Yeah I have that already...I'm just wondering if this can work, this way I can hook my Wii up to the monitor as well.

Its because the port on the computer is an S-Video OUT. So plugging something into it and hoping it will appear on the monitor is being a little too optimistic!

If thats from your video card, and its not all in wonder, those are outputs. You need to get a component > vga and then maybe to dvi.

Jeez....would make sence if this was all easy.  Why include all this stuff then?  :)

I have been looking for a vga to component cable for a while...can't find any to buy in Canada.

It's included because some people, like myself like to OUTPUT to sources aside from just the monitor, such as a TV. I have an S-video cable going from my video card to my TV so I can watch videos on my TV. And before anybodies chastises me for pirating movies, I own 90% of the stuff i have on my computer on DVD or VHS. I believe that if something is worth downloading and watching, then it's worth it to pay money for it so that hopefully the big movie and TV companies will make more of what I like. It's just easier, especially with TV shows, to organize stuff on my computer and i don't have to swap out DVD's all the time.
