They're not the first devs to do that.:lol: I don't even know why they would admit something like that, couldn't they just shut their mouths and just patch the game.That would be worse. While not easy, a little bit of digging around will be able to show you what the version number is. Most developers use a version number of 1.0.xxxxx as the release. Anything below that is almost always designated a pre-release version. If someone found out and the developers didnt say anything at all, it'll be an even bigger PR backlash.
Also, its extremely easy to upload an incorrect version, especially when they likely have multiple versions (physical, digital, and possibly different regions of each) to just simply pick the wrong one. You're just clicking an item from the list and pressing a button... thats it.
It still doesn't excuse them though.
