Anyone excited about it. I am. It's style, over the top and cartoony graphics, is a bit downside, though.

I have heard it has light/dark point system, like in the previous one. Does this mean you can become sith when being jedi and vice versa? I'm not sure what it means since I have just started playing knights of the republic for the first time (excellent game so far).

Basically you pick a class which is associated with one of the two factions, Republic or Sith Empire. In the case of the jedi knight (a Republic class), you will never cease to be a jedi no matter how light or dark you go. If you "fall to the dark side" as a jedi you simply become a dark jedi for the Republic side. So to put it in a nutshell: your class and faction remain the same despite your relative alignment (light/dark).

I'm definitely excited about it. I loved the atmosphere and feel of the KOTORs, and TOR looks to me like a non-stop version of those games with some MMO elements thrown in. Arguably the strongest part of the original games was the story, and it doesn't look like Bioware plans on changing that with this next game.

My only minor gripe is the cartoonish art direction they've decided to take. I would've loved a more serious approach to the franchise, but I suppose they wanted to appeal to the broadest amount of players as possible ala WoW. Regardless, I'm sure the overall gaming experience will shine through and this will probably be one of the greatest MMOs ever created.

The cartoonish graphics aren't always meant to draw in WoW players, but to make the game lighter (as in processing), so people with slower machines can still play it...

... which means I'm still correct in that they're trying to reach the broadest amount of players as possible. ^^
