Now that the final beta faze is over, are any of you missing the game like I am. I had a complete blast this last wekend playing this game. Now I didnt get to spend endless hours playing, but did manage to get my Sith Warrior to Level 10 and got to swing my Lightsaber on a few quests. I also got my Jedi Knight to Level 6, but ran out of time to get him leveled any hire. I didnt get to tinker with the other classes, but I think once the real game come out, I will roll a Jedi Knight and a Bounty Hunter. For those that are complaining that this game is too much like WoW, all I have to say is that is a very good thing. I am just not quite sure why MMO players want to keep finding a WoW replacement, but dont want something that plays like WoW. Why reinvent the wheel? The WoW formula is a time tested success and for me atleast, SWToR is WoW in a StarWars skin but from what I played it has also improved on alot of what WoW did. Cant wait for December 15!!!!!

Nope, not missing the game at all.

I was in the beta for the past three months or so and, after about the first week, my desire to play went down drastically. Towards the end I was hardly playing at all.

With that said, I'll probably buy the game eventually when the price drops to around $10 but even then, I doubt I'll play it for more than a month or two. I just can't see myself sticking around this game for too long and, while the game wasn't terrible, I can't say that I'm even a little excited about its release and I'm a pretty big Star Wars fan.

The game is simply way too linear and, "been there - done that," for my tastes. I've also never cared for Bioware's "storytelling" abilities so the one thing that sets the game apart from the 10 billion other theme-park MMORPGs is, at least for me, just another feature I couldn't care less about.

^ Yeah, I don't see the storytelling part working for TOR, or any MMO for that matter. I could definitely do without it. Although I've only played the beta for that one day.. it's hard to tell if I would like it. But hearing from someone who is a Star Wars fan and has played it for months, that certainly causes a bit of an alarm.

I've been playing it the past few months but have missed out on the last 2 "open weekends" and I'm still not sure what to think. I mean its fun to play but the linear missions do start to get boring and it seems like everyone is doing their own thing solo but that could just be the server I am on. With out Bioware's story this game would just be another "meh" MMO in a long list of games. I'm sure I will still get it and play on and off but won't be 100% dedicated to it.

I'm still in the beta. I'm having fun, but I am beginning to think it might be a bit of a pain to start all over with a new characterwhenthe game is released.

Played the beta since Friday and had a pretty good time. I can't say that I have the same "oh my god, must play this noooow!" feeling that I did when I played in the WoW beta, though.

I think that the story is really interesting, but that is also going to mean that once I've been through all the different stories for the classes I will probably not be playing it too much. The end game is still gonna be the same soup of raiding, flashpoints and PvP that eventually made me give up on WoW.

I think the current "holy grail" to be found in MMO's right now is how to make truly compelling end game that keeps feeling fresh and fun for the players and I don't think SWTOR is going to be the game that delivers that.

Yeah the similarity to WoW is actually what has put me off, you like it that's fair enough but for me it's Modern Military Shooters all over again, just the same old gameplay with the same mechanics and same flaws to go along with it. I do like the game and might get it but really i would prefer something not so closely similar to WoW. I hear the starter zones are absolutely terrible in comparison to the later stuff so maybe it's just that, and after i reach level 15+ i'll start seeing the real differences and variety of things to do. I hope that's what it is pretty badly because i've wanted the game for months and months now.

the story is one of the sole reasons ill be playing. If it wasnt there, it would be the same soulless fetch and grind kill quests with zero context as to why you are doing them. Now we can still have some of those types of quests, but when there's context, it feels completely different to me when I can not just make a generic hero and kill crap, but also have them form a story and a personality, and then do it with other players in my group when we do quests together

Good story and voice work but to me thats about the only difference from other mmos like wow,etc..

Not bad but I doubt I will end up getting it on release day. its not to much the game, but the genre, I have only really LOVED one mmo ever and that was a longtime ago (Ultima Online). I mean I liked a efw mmos for a few weeks but then they got boring (Conan, Everquest1, Star Wars Galaxies, WOW).

Definatly cool to have a decent story and good voice acting though in a mmo finally :P

I hope it does well though, Im just not a hue mmo player though these days. I like to try them out but not many I would play for years on end like Ultima. Hell I even went back to give WOW another try, bought all the expansions,etc.. but just could not last more then two weeks to a month. The Old Republic seems like WOW in a star wars universe but with good story and voice work. Maybe few months after release Ill get it, we shall see... despite it reminding me of wow in alot of ways I still might give it a go down the road.
