I'm thinking of getting the Syberia bundle gog.com has on sale this weekend, but wanted to know some opinions on it. I like this type of adventure game, but I'm curious how well the graphics and gameplay have held up over the years. I liked The Longest Journey, Sanitarium, Day of the Tentacle, and the Gabriel Knight games, to name a few. I prefer it when games have memorable characters and story (for good reasons, not because it sucked! :D ), not just puzzles, and the games get extra points for originality. So. Am I over-thinking this too much? I got burned on a non-refundable MMO purchase recently, so now I'm all nervous about spending money on games I don't know a lot about. :(

Get it! Though not quite as great as TLJ/Dreamfall, its still a very solid adventure title. Its got a bit of a steampunk edge to it, which I like.

All right... I'm buying it now. But if I don't like it I'll blame you! :x :P

I never actually finished Syberia put it was quite imaginative and unique, the puzzles were mostly find the key type puzzles though.

I dug out my old copy and I'm replaying it now. I can't remember all the solutions so it's still a challenge to play :D I think the game is amazing, the characters and story are so intriguing and full of life and feeling. You made a good choice buying it.

The first one was great. Amazing charm and atmosphere. It The 2nd one wasn't as good (too many similar environments) and far more harder, which is specially noticeable when you play them back to back. Though , if you have the deal go for both. As someone who loved TLJ it's easy for me to recommend Syberia.

I like the second one more. It had more memorable characters, and it felt more challenging.

I never played 2, but I had a good time with 1. Two things I do remember, though:

1.) There is sometimes a problem with the game speed when you first install it

2.) Stairs in that game are sloooooooooooooow. You have to watch her take every step

I seriously doubt I'll be playing them back to back. I like alternating genres. Thanks everyone for your input. :)

It's been a while since I played those games.

I liked them. they are notblockbusters but they have their own charm. as I recall the graphic was very nice and so was the story line.

about the difficulty level, I think it hits the spot. not too easy to bore you and not to hard to exhaust you.

Both gamesdefinitely have a lot of heart and soul injected into its inspired and original story. But its done in verysad manner.. Just thinking of it brings back powerful memories.

It however is definitely worth it, as you may be playing them back to back since its emotional factor is so resonating. :)

It's the only game I took a whole week's sick leave from school to play. I also wrote my high school graduation essay on it.

Great games! Though the first one is more touching IMO.

her paces on stairs were NOTHING compared to the stuff you eeded to endure on the ps2's action/puzzle epic primal :P now their was a lazy punk in need of a good backhand but DAMN did she look good.
