I found my computer off, or sleeping today after leaving it to download games from steam overnight. I turned it on and i received a message along the lines of 'system disk error' and it wouldn't go further. So i re-booted my computer and i'm assuming it was resuming from sleep. I was inpatient thinking it was a virus so i re-booted it again, this time it worked. Now i'm wondering should i be scared? Both Avg and Malware Bytes found nothing overnight, i'm going to scan again to make sure. But is this a known issue?

System disk error... hm.. that sounds like bad sectors on your hard disk. Try doing a check disk on your hard drive. Open the Computer option from the start menu, which will display all of the drives available to scan on your PC, right click on the drive you wish to scan for errors and select "Properties". Now click the Tools menu, then "Check Now" under the error-checking section. You have several options within the check disk tool. It is always recommended you leave the "automatically fix file system errors" box checked, as this repairs and problems found. If you want to perform a deeper scan, tick "scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors". This second option takes longer, but is worth doing if you suspect a drive problem. Once you are configured, click Start. If you try to check a disk that is currently in use, you will receive a message asking if you wish to schedule a scan. Accepting this will perform the scan next time you restart your PC. Try this first and give us a feedback.

I hope you are not kicking your computer while you are playing!! Aside from the joke kicks can be hazardous for your hard disk (especially when the hard disk is working)
