Hey everyone I need help please. I had been having problems with my pc not turning on. Well it finally turned on but then none of the USB ports worked. Finally one day I noticed a weird smell (burning maybe) and my computer was off again. Now I can't turn it on at all and I'm ready to start over.

I think the problem is the mobo but maybe it's the PS, I'm not sure. My 1st question is if it's the mobo should I keep my current processor or get a new dual core one? I currently have a 3.6 Pentium D (I'm pretty sure) and a decent PCI-e video card. I only really play WOW and it seems to run really good almost maxed out. So I'm not really thinking about changing that. If price-wise it isn't that much to get a new, better processor and mobo I don't mind doing that and would actually be pretty excited. I have 1 gb of ram so if it would fit in a new mobo I would upgrade another gig. Or I could just replace the mobo and keep everything I still have. Oh, the ONLY thing my new mobo MUST have is wireless network ability. Or I guess I could just get a wireless card (argh too many possiblities)

Could I please get some advice? Thank you!

Just wondering, is this a Prebuilt or a PC you built yourself?

Someone built it for me, it isn't a Dell or Compaq or anything.

If it's just for wow get yourself a cheap dual core amd processor, they run about £70-£100 that then allows u to get yourself a cheap mobo and still have some left over for another stick of ram.  But then you need to figure out if the power supply is dead or the mobo is dead.  As to the wireless problem you can get a plug in jobbie for not too much but the only thing that may cost u would be the power supply if it is dead get a good brand name as it is the foundation of your build really.
