I've heard alot about System Shock 2, and it looks like a really awesome game to play, most people call it a must. Does anyone know how I can get it to work on Vista? I... got a few copy's of it.... somehow... (Oh noes!) and the closest I've gotten it starting up the game, everything is fine but it freezes when I try to like open a door when someone is talking or anything. I heard it has a problem with Dual Core systems, which I have, I made it so it only uses one core on the game when I use it but still nothing. is there possible a patch for Vista 64x or anything? I really want to play this game :P EDIT: I hope this is in the right Sub-Forum :O Since it is somewhat hardware related...

It plays fine on 32 bit Vista; Can't vouch for Vista 64x, but I imagine a quick google search would yield wonders.

edit: damn my spelling...

Got SS2 working on my Vista. And I know the website has a wierd name, but it's a reference to an audio log in SS2.

Well I know I had a file that I had to unzip and put into the directory to get sound, that worked for me.

@ Nicolas101: Woooooot, awesome link man. This worked perfectly, no freezes no nothing :D I'm so happy I can finally play this! The only bad thing is the cut scene's won't play in the game, I need to watch them in the folder, but that is not that bad compared to before :P @BlackFlagX When I got the game the file came with it, it's called System Shock 2 Expand and it just generates the sound files, somehow :P It's a Windows Batch File, only 113 Kb. I don't know if I can send the file to you itself, or if you have to download it yourself. If you give me your email I can try sending it to you, or if you don't trust me or want to do it the other way I can link you to the place I downloaded it and you might have to download the whole game and just take the file out of it. (I would post the link here, but apparently I might get banned for that xD) I'll msg you with the link to the Torrent if you wanna do it that way.

I know it's a heavily contested topic, but please, I urge you to actually purchase the game. From what I can see, Amazon has resale options that are all under $50 (which, to me is actually worth it in the case of System Shock 2). So please...don't torrent the game.
