With the delay of Conan, and the fact that I'm starting to get bored of WoW again I've been thinking about trying TR. I was in the beta about 2 - 3 months before release, I thought the game looked decent but needed a lot of polish. Just wondering how the game looks now for those who played beta through to now.
I played for a month. The combat is refreshing for a while and the story isn't half-bad but for me it got stale. So much so that I didn't want to re-new my subscription. I'm sure you could get a month or so out of it cuz it's not a horrible game but I'll bet you Age of Conan will be 10x better.
the game is very polished now. I was in the beta too, then bought the retail. Unfortunately, it gets boring very very fast. I think I played it for about a month off and on; cancelled my subsciption before the free first month ran out.
I played it in the Beta, and its improved from what i can see.
Its a fun game, but i dont think its worth the monthly fee. Im already paying for WoW and Planetside, and both provide me with the MMORPG and MMOFPS fix i need.
I'm interested in it as well, but I'm not interested in paying $15 a month to play a game I already paid for. I'll give it a shot if they ever get rid of the monthly fee, but that's highly unlikely. Has any online game ever dropped the monthly fee??
Don't bother buying this game. 1 in 3 people can not even play it even though they have the right hardware.
The problem is that NCSoft has a problem in their server where it will not allow some people to create accounts. Even if its done manually the server will not accept it. Thus there are thousands of people out there who waisted $50 to $70 on a game they can not even play.
If you wish I can post the Tech support notes on this issue.
I played TR for a few weeks after release. As folks have already mentioned, the combat was interesting in the beginning, but it got repetitive fast. I didn't renew after the first month.
