I been a console gamer all my life. I always wanted to play pc games like crysis but reasons certain reasons kept me from building a gaming PC. Mostly maintaining it and keeping it going. But after seeing OnLive tonight on gamespot live video in action and having the main guys talk about it. I want to take a chance with it. I want to buy the micro console this winter if things are in order but my internet speed is at 1.5mb well I pay for 1.5 but get 1.3mb and 768 upload. Will 1.3mb be good enough for standard definition? Also I hope I can get good Frames per second with it. I signed up for the beta as well.

Basically, all you need is any kind of computer to play it. Netbooks and notebooks included as well. If you already have any kind of computer you will already be set to play it. According to IGN though, how much connection you need is actually lower than the recommended. You also won't have to worry about FPS, because that's handled by THEIR computers not yours. Only thing you have to take care of is your internet connection. If you want to have a more "console" style experience, then you would want to buy the Microconsole so you could hook it up to your tv. It also has HDMI connectors and bluetooth and comes with a controller. I'm also thinking about making the jump to Onlive but only after I've made sure my internet connection. I really like the idea that I won't ever have to upgrade my hardware ever again.

To be honest, You would probably be paying around 30+ dollars a month for this, and in a year, that would be about $360. With $360, you could buy a really good gpu, and can run almost any game. I rather have a high end pc, then borrow one for a monthly fee. You might not need to upgrade with onlive, but a good graphics card can last you about 4years, and with 4 years of paying for onlive, you could build a whole new high end pc.

It would cost them a LOT to buy these servers so the monthly cost is going to be high.

Anyway i suggest waiting for reviews before doing anything too hasty.
