I have played Team Fortress 2 on my PS3 but the community is almost dead and there are lots of hackers. I am thinking about getting it for my PC. Is the PC version different/better enough for me to buy it?

How is Counter Strike Source? Are they both still active?

Are there are any Steam sales coming to get them cheaper? Could I max out both of them? Here are my specs:

CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo CPU E7400 @ 2.80 GHz

CPU Speed: 2.80 GHz Performance Rated at 5.04 GHz

RAM: 3.5 GB

OS: Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 (build 2600)

Video Card: GeForce 9500 GT

DirectX version: 9.0c

Sound Card: Realtek High Definition Audio

I have played Team Fortress 2 on my PS3 but the community is almost dead and there are lots of hackers. I am thinking about getting it for my PC. Is the PC version different/better enough for me to buy it? The PC version is vastly different. And better.

How is Counter Strike Source? Are they both still active? Yes, both games are still very active.

Are there are any Steam sales coming to get them cheaper? Wait for Thanksgiving/Christmas? Could I max out both of them? Probably not. Here are my specs:

CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo CPU E7400 @ 2.80 GHz

CPU Speed: 2.80 GHz Performance Rated at 5.04 GHz

RAM: 3.5 GB

OS: Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 (build 2600)

Video Card: GeForce 9500 GT

DirectX version: 9.0c

Sound Card: Realtek High Definition Audio

I have a Pentium Dual Core 2.8 GHz, 640 MB 8800 GTS and 4GBs of RAM and I couldn't max TF2, so I don't think you can.

Both are alive and well on PC, you should probably be able to play but if you really want to play it at the highest settings then I would look at getting a better GPU since that 9500 is pretty week.

Yes, they're both very active. They're some of the most popular online PC games of all-time, and they'll stay that way for a long time yet.

The PS3 version of the Orange Box is known to be the worst version available. Conversely, the PC version is known to be the best version, and it shows in its level of activity, the quality of the community, and the amount of features it has.

You could run TF2 on relatively high settings. Your graphics card is quite weak, but you should be able to have it looking nice without much of a problem. You should be able to max out Counter-Strike: Source though.

Gary's Mod is basically a virtual editor that allows you to build anything you want from the Source Engine. Just go to youtube and see some of the crazy things people have built. I joined one room and it was a soccer game going on with the gravity guns which was a lot of fun to play
